Successfully drove the IT audit function with limited resources in a decentralised, multi-cultural and cost-driven organisation to the full satisfaction of the Head of GIA, Audit Committee, external auditors and Business units across a complex IT environment composed of +500 critical applications serving 12 main Business Units and more than 50 second-tier Business Units
Transitioned from pure compliance audit to value added audit by adopting an integrated audit approach where IT and business auditors worked together
Implemented data mining tools (ACL) as a pivot-centre in all audit programs with the aim to improve the efficiency and quality of the audit process
Hence, 30% of the audit findings were directly linked to those new approaches.
Strengthened and standardized the yearly independent testing of the IT Internal Controls Framework across all business units. Therefore, compliance work were reduced from 40% to 20% and reliance by external auditors were obtained with a drop of external audit fees
Implemented a continuous auditing program to provide assurance on Segregation of Duties for one of the major ERP systems
Led project methodology reviews for key projects within the Group (project values: €5M to €25M)
